Welcome to Asura Beta!

Hey everyone, we have some great news to share with you all!

Over the past few months, we’ve been hard at work rebuilding our website completely from scratch. The current site faces performance issues and critical bugs that aren’t simple to fix with the existing architecture, leading to repeated downtime.

The new beta site is built to be faster and more reliable. It helps pages load smoothly during busy periods, lets us roll out updates without breaking things, and reduces unexpected downtime.

You can expect:

• ⚡ A drastic increase in loading speed
• 🐞 A drastic reduction in the amount of bugs
• 🧵 Much more filtering and sorting options in the browse page
• 📜 An overhaul to the UI, displaying more information in a modern manner while not deviating too much from our old site design

V2 also comes with some brand new features!

• 🔖 Smarter Bookmarks – Auto-update as you read, hide caught-up series, and track reading status.
• 🧾 Reading History – Easily find chapters you’ve read before and continue right where you left off.
• 🪪 Public Profiles – Show off your profile with a bio, banner, public bookmarks, and visual effects.
• 📽️ Custom GIFs – Use your own GIFs to react and reply.

The new site is powered by Toraka, a platform built to track what you’re reading across multiple manga, manhwa, and manhua sites.

Toraka supports tracking over 73,000 different series, letting you manage everything you read in one place. It doesn’t host any content itself and focuses entirely on tracking and bookmark management, keeping it lightweight, reliable, and safe to use long-term.

Two-way syncing between Asura and Toraka is coming soon. You’ll be able to log in with your Asura account on Toraka, and your bookmarks and reading progress will stay in sync across both platforms.

We’d also like to thank @Yafei, the owner of Toraka, who was behind the development of the new site. He'll be publicly helping us moving forward as one of our site administrators!

🗒️ Beta Access

Lastly, to ensure a smooth launch, the beta site will initially only be available to all current and future Asura+ Premium users. A full public release is planned after the site exits its beta.
